Things To See And Do In The Neighborhood
| Each village, large or small, has a market day every
week. For instance, Cordes Sur Ciel has market day on
Saturday as does the larger town of Albi. Other towns have them on
different days so you could spend your days just going to market!
From fruits and vegetables to books and clothes,
this is how the French prefer to shop. Although the supermarkets are
well stocked, you can't beat the experience of shopping at an open market
as they have for centuries.

Larger towns often have specialty markets where you can hunt for everything from
antiques and a lace tablecloth to handmade pottery. Each
village is a delight to see, market day or not. All of the markets
are set in towns built from approximately the 12th to the 16th
century. If you want to get a feel for real life in rural France,
take a leisurely stroll though the streets and alleys and
admire the architecture, churches, cathedrals,
doors, iron work, and gardens. |
